Privacy policy

Effective October 6, 2026.

USSD Codes is a catalog of mobile operators' USSD codes, published by Netersoft. This policy explains what the app does with your data: it keeps it on your device.

No data collected

USSD Codes does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. The app has no user account, shows no ads, contains no usage analytics or crash reporting tools, and sends no data to Netersoft.

Data stored on your device

Uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data.

Running codes and the Phone permission

On Android, when "Run codes directly" is on, the app asks for the Phone permission the first time you run a code, then dials codes directly. If you decline or turn the option off, the code shows in the dialer and you place the call yourself. On iOS, the code is copied to the clipboard for you to paste in the dialer.

A USSD code is handled by your operator, just as if you typed it yourself. On Android 8 and later, in direct mode, the app shows the operator's reply. That reply stays on the device: it is neither stored nor transmitted. Otherwise, the system shows the reply and the app does not read it.

Contacts

On Android, to fill in a phone number in a code, you can pick a contact in the system contact picker. The app only receives the number you picked: it does not ask for the Contacts permission and has no access to the rest of your contacts. That number is only used to compose the code and is not kept.

SIM card and country

On Android, the app reads your SIM cards' operator and the mobile network's country to preselect your country and operators in the catalog. This information is used on the device and never transmitted. It requires no extra permission.

Catalog updates

To get new codes and corrections without an app update, USSD Codes downloads the public catalog published on netersoft.github.io at most twice a day, or when you ask for it in the settings. This request sends no data about you. As with any web page, the host, GitHub, receives the device's IP address; see GitHub's privacy statement. Offline, the app works with the catalog it already has.

Sharing, reviews and contact

When you share a code or the app, the system share sheet or the app you picked (email, SMS) opens: you decide who gets the message. To suggest a code or a correction, the app opens your mail app with a prefilled email you can read before sending it. On Android, it may show the Google Play review prompt, handled by Google: the app does not know whether you rated it or what you wrote.

Children

Since USSD Codes collects no data, it collects no data from children either.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will ship with the app update, along with its effective date.
